The Founder
The Purushottam Khaparde Health and Education Society was established in the year 1984 by Late Purushottam Khaparde. He was a dedicated leader and freedom fighter. The founder has envisioned to cater the educational needs of the rural students especially girls coming from financially weaker and educational deprived sections of the society. The objective was fulfilled by providing the education at rural area in Borkhedi village. In 1992, at the time of the establishment of Yashoda Girls’ Arts and Commerce College, Nagpur, the founder believed, the primary vision of providing opportunities for higher education to the rural population situated in a marginalized location with a minimum fee structure. Since then the college has been serving the needs of higher education to the vast rural population, consisting mostly of an economically and socially backward section of the society. The mission is to impart humanistic and holistic education. It also empowers healthy socialization, establishing themselves as noble, conscious citizens and imparting skills to meet the challenges of the rapidly changing globe. The main objective of the society is to contribute to the transformation of customary social conditions and also strives to instil passion and skill among the young minds to successfully face the changing challenges of the time.
The dream of founder was fulfilled by Late Yashoda Khaparde who stood for the transmission of female education in the peripheral area of west Nagpur. It started functioning on 1st day of August, 1992 with few students on the rolls at undergraduate level. The courses were introduced with Commerce and Arts faculty. The arts subjects mainly include English, Marathi, Urdu, Pali, (literature as well) Economics, History, Political Science and Home Economics. The former president used to address the students to evolve into competent, committed and compassionate women for their bright future. The pleasant and peaceful environment is aimed to enhance students to experience education with a holistic approach which not only emphasizes on the academic front but also other important aspects like promoting healthy lifestyle, cultivating ethical and social values and eventually imbibing a desire for learning.

Late Yashoda Purushottam Khaparde has envisioned to cater the educational needs to the rural students especially girls coming from financially weaker and educationally underprivileged sections of the society. In view of the vision of founder Late Purushottam Khaparde, the society stepped into the field of education with the aim of upliftment of feminine education by opening school in the village of Borkhedi and college in urban area. The institution is consistently has remained committed to its foundational principles of women’s empowerment and education and thus fulfilled its inspectional vision and agenda of nation building. The former president also took over the founder vision and stands absolute for helping hands to the minds desire for education. Since, then the prime dictum of the college is to work harder to help the students evolve into competent, committed, creative and compassionate women.
