The Purushottam Khaparde Health and Education Society was established in the year 1984 by Late Purushottam Khaparde a dedicated leader and freedom fighter. The dream of former president Late Purushottam Khaparde and Late Yashoda Khaparde who stood for the transmission of female education in the suburban area of west Nagpur stands today as living epitome of the realization of the dream. The Yashoda Girls’ Arts & Commerce College was established in August 1992 with Arts and Commerce streams, with the motive of brining the rural students to the mainstream by dissemination of higher education in this socially and economically backward rural area of Nagpur. The college got its recognition and affiliation from the Government of Maharashtra and Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur respectively and started its journey with Arts and Commerce faculty. The college is also recognized under 2(f) & 12(b) of the UGC. There are around 500 students on its roll with fourteen full-time teachers, one librarian, five part time teachers and eight members of non-teaching staff. The college is achieving its target to cater the educational needs of the rural students especially girls by covering the areas of nearby villages and towns under the direction of the present dynamic Secretary Ms Saroj Khaparde of the society and a dedicated group of individuals always put their efforts to impart quality education.
