Yashoda Girls’ Arts & Commerce College was founded on August 1, 1992 to cater to the local demand for a Girls’ College. Since the date of its establishment the college has marched forward thoughtlessly to fulfill its goal of promoting female education in this part of the suburb and shaping its students into citizens of caliber and character through various academic, literary, cultural activities and periodically organized events. The college is recognized under 2(f) & 12(b) of the UGC. The College runs undergraduate courses. As per the regulation of the University, details of admission process and admission policy (criteria for admission, adherence to the decisions of the admission committee, equity, access, transparency etc.) are published in the prospectus. The institution aims at spreading the message of education in the rural area to improve the educational and living standards of the rural students. Hence the students are given admission on ‘first come – first serve’ basis. To begin with all the in- house students (i.e. those students who have passed standard XII – Arts from the junior college of our institution) are admitted on priority. The college also houses a Study Center of the YCMOU which provides CPCT – Certificate Program in Counselor Training. We are now waiting for the quality inspection by the NAAC for First Cycle of Assessment in order to get accreditation status which will certainly help us to achieve our desired goal in the field of higher education in the present context.
